Copper is a valuable trace element that contributes to the formation of red blood cells in the body, but also to the immune system and wound healing.
It can also be used as a safety knife by fire brigades or in dangerous environments, because even under hard use there are no flying sparks.
Due to the "living" copper properties, the knife will soon turn an irregular dark colour. This is a patina desired with copper, which protects the copper. When cutting lemons or other acidic foods, for example, this patina is removed again. It is recommended to always dry the knife well after use and not to store it in an acidic environment.
Before first use, it is advisable to soak the handle in a wood care oil, linseed oil or a commercially available cooking oil and to repeat this occasionally so that it does not suffer when washed.
It is a very flexible metal and will not break even under heavy use. If it should bend during work, it can be easily ironed out again by itself.
